Reliacare, which sells and rents supplies and services for home care needs, opened in the North Towanda Professional Building on Colonial Drive.
David F. Fortney, who retired from the Board of Trustees of the Towanda Public Library, donated two plaques to the library, installed in its vestibule. One honors the memory of Frank R. Welles, who, in the 1890s, donated the land and the building now housing the main section of the library, and the other lists all the librarians of the library from 1898 to present.
In an informal and unscientific public opinion telephone survey conducted by The Daily Review, more Troy area residents who were randomly contacted were found to favor Troy Community Hospital's merger with Guthrie Medical Center in Sayre than those who opposed the merger.
