25 years ago - 1985

Lisa Kim, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Tai Kim of Towanda, received the Good Citizen Award at the December meeting of the George Clymer Chapter DAR.

During a workshop meeting of the Sayre Borough Council, Bob Conner of Purcell Developers, Lewisburg, Pa., spoke regarding the construction of a $1-million apartment complex project on borough-owned land on Warren Street.

Gasoline prices may continue to drop, however Valley service station managers do not expect the price of regular gasoline to fall below $1.

Teachers of Troy elementary building and friends gathered at a dinner at the Troy Hotel to honor Mrs. George Billingsley for 10 years of service in the Troy Community Joint Schools.

Cornerstone laying ceremonies for the $350,000 South Waverly Elementary School were held yesterday with Dr. Lewis Rathgeber, president of Mansfield State College, as guest speaker.

The Standing Stone Grange received from the National Secretary a beautiful Honor Grange certificate as a reward for their work in the past year.

Dan Quinlan, famed minstrel show player, will be the principal speaker at the annual Grace Episcopal Church men's banquet.

The Rigsbee Sextette, a group of six sisters who put on a program of sacred music, will be at the East Troy charge Sunday for the regular service.
