25 years ago - 1985

The Bradford County Commissioners approved a resolution in memory of Harold Woodard, a former county commissioner, recognizing the many years of dedicated service he gave the people of the county.

Going to the District Band Festival from Towanda High School are Laura Schelter, Laura Goff, Alissa Grimes, Brian Gallew, Kate Chenot and Barb Lee.

The new Packer Avenue bridge in Sayre will be open to two-way traffic as early as the fall of 1985, if all goes as planned.

75 years ago - 1935

Celebrating his birthday today is Newton J. Morrow of Towanda, who is 87. "Dad" Morrow, as he is known here, is the father of County Superintendent J. Andrew Morrow.

Responding to one of the finest humanitarian enterprises the nation has ever attempted, approximately 300 Bradford Countians turned out for the President's Birthday Ball at Towanda's SCI hall.

When a 7½ pound son arrived yesterday in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Chilson in Asylum Township, it wasn't hard to decide on a named. AS it was the president's birthday, he was named Franklin Delano.
