Wysox Fire Company responded to a call yesterday afternoon on the Wysox site of the Susquehanna River, across from the Agway Fertilizer plant. According to a fire company spokesman, upon arrival at the scene, the firemen found a woman who had chest pains. The firemen carried the woman to an ambulance, via the railroad trestle bridge, in their Stokes basket. She was taken to Memorial Hospital by Towanda ambulance.

The window of the driver's side of a 1977 Mack cab-over truck tractor was smashed sometime between July 2 to 3. According to state police, the incident of criminal mischief occurred at Sinbad's Auto Slaes, Route 6, Wysox. The owner is Robert McLinko, 30 N. Fourth St., Towanda.

Nearly 130 members and guests of the Athens Senior Citizens Club enjoyed their annual Strawberry Festival recently. The berries were picked and cleaned by eight members of the club. Norma Rae was presented a rose for baking all of the biscuits for the group.

Sandra Chicarilli of Towanda has been initiated into Delta Phi Zeta., Ithaca College social sorority. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Chicarilli, 212 Main St., Towanda. She's enrolled in the Department of Speech and Drama at Ithaca College.

Paul Banks of Swarthmore has been elected president of Lake Wesauking Association. William Lefferts was re-elected secretary-treasurer. Two new directors elected the board: William Wilt and Robert Taylor, both of Towanda.

Ted Keir succeeds Tom Jones as Athens basketball coach. Keir is a science teacher at Athens High School. He has been a varsity baseball coach their for some years.

July 5 - State police are investigating the robbery at Ben Spencer's chicken coop in Grover. A number of chickens are missing.

Mrs. Hazel Kolb, 37, one of Waverly best known and most active women, died at her home following a week's illness.

George Warner of Laceyville has the high her average for milk for the month of June as noted in the month report of the Wyalusing Cow-Testing Association.
