Plans are in high gear for Towanda's Fourth Annual Fall Foliage Festival, being held Oct. 8 to 9 on the Towanda Airport grounds. Sponsored by the Towanda Area Chamber of Commerce Revitalization Committee, the festival provides the community with two days of fun and entertain while raising money for the chamber's revitalization program.
At last night's Waverly village Board of Trustees meeting, the board approved the hiring of new personnel, discussed eliminating one of the police vehicles used in the village and voted to advertise for bids on repair work for Center Street in Waverly.
State police at Towanda said unknown persons entered the Ulster Elementary Scholl by smashing glass on the kitchen door between 5:30 p.m. Monday and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
According to police, several rooms were ransacked and a brown AM/FM radio, valued at $29, and an electronic calculator, valued at $35, were stolen.

Carl V.S. Patterson of Towanda and Dr. John M. Higgins and Dr. Rodney L. Stedge of Sayre were honored last night at a testimonial dinner at Shepard Hills Country Club, Waverly, during which three departments in the new wing of the Robert Packer Hospital were dedicated to them.
The North Towanda Daily Vacation Bible School will be held on Monday, June 17, through Friday, June 28.
Pictures of the down-river canoe race which was staged on Sunday, June 2, from Wysox to Wyalusing, will be show Sunday afternoon at 1:35 o'clock over Channel 22, Station WDAU, Scranton.

Mrs. Otto Wiggins of Monroeton was tendered a shower Tuesday night by 26 members of Mrs. Critchow's Sunday School class at the home of Mrs. Olney Bullock on Pine Street. She was presented with a lovely end table.
