Mark Roof and Donna Chamberlain displayed a 10-point buck that Donna killed at 10 a.m. Monday in the Myersburg area. She killed it with one shot. It had a rack with a 15 and five-eighths-inch spread.
Athens can benefit from a gazebo in its downtown area, according to one Athens man. Dave Rosenbloom, owner of Jay's Carpet, thinks that building a gazebo in Athens is a good idea. "A gazebo is something we can use for the community," Rosenbloom said. "It could be an important attraction to the town. It could serve various purposes for everyone."
Jason Michael Hart, a magician and illusionist, will be performing "Galaxy of Magic" on Thursday at JFK Hall in Towanda.

Sara Jennings Kizer, one of Towanda's highly regarded women, passed away Wednesday evening at Robert Packer Hospital following a period of declining health.
Syracuse beat Notre Dame 14-7, yesterday as 57,000 fans watched the game in Yankee Stadium.
Col. Q.R. Chaffee of East Towanda recently left for Decatur, Ind., to attend Reppert School of Auctioneering at which he is dean of instruction. His son, Ronald, is accompanying him.
75 years ago - 1938
Heavy slaughter marked opening of the deer season locally, yesterday. Opening at 7 a.m. the first carcass was being taken through town at 9 a.m. Prat Molyneux of Towanda was seen at 5 p.m. with his four associates bring back five deer carcasses affixed to the roof of their vehicle. Towanda fire chief Robert Brennan got a doe on Cast Mountain before 9 a.m.
