GVCC announces new officers
The Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce has announced new officers for 2013. Greg Joseph has stepped up as president again and Jim Carroll is now serving as vice president.
Greg is the owner of the Valley Bowling Center and has been since 1997. He also opened Ball Street Luxury Apartments in Waverly in 2012. Greg had previously served for five years as the president of the Chamber of Commerce and was serving the vice president until the recent retirement of Dave Rosenbloom. Greg is vice president of The S.A.W (Sayre/Athens/Waverly) USBC Board and has been active for many years. He is the assistant coach for the Waverly Bowling Team. Greg is a member of the Waverly Business Association and was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year. He also received the 2008 Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year award.
James R. Carroll, Jr. has practiced law since 1995 working in Harrisburg and Philadelphia before returning to his hometown of Athens in 2000. In 2013, Jim merged his firm with the Vestal, N.Y. law firm of Levene, Gouldin & Thompson, LLP, and has an office on Main Street in Athens. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Justice and the New York Trial Lawyers Association.
Amy VanBenthuysen and Ginger Reap will continue to serve as secretary and treasurer for the chamber.
