Knoebel's trip planned for Aug. 3
Because the community swimming pools in Canton/Troy have been closed all or most of the season, the Church of Christ (Disciples of Christ) of Canton decided to provide "a bright spot" for the children-youth-adults in the areas.
The Knoebel's trip is under the leadership of Bonnie Browning (minister) assisted by David Morris (retired minister) and Kristin Seeley (picnic coordinator). The Canton and Troy Community Trip to Knoebel's Amusement Park and Swimming Pool, Elysburg, has been planned for Tuesday, Aug. 3.
The cost is $30 per adult-youth-child and includes round trip school bus transportation, amusement park rides, swimming pool admission, picnic and "Echo" Picnic!
The schedule is: At 8:30 a.m. the bus leaves Family Dollar of Troy; at 8:45 the bus leaves the Dandy Mini Mart in Alba; at 9 a.m. the bus leaves the Church of Christ (DOC) in Canton and at 11 a.m. the bus arrives at Knoebel's for riding and swimming until 6 p.m. At 12:30 p.m. there will be a picnic in pavilion K (near Big Wheel ride). At 6:30 p.m. the "Echo" Picnic and at 7 p.m., departure from Knoebel's, arriving at 9 p.m. in Canton; a 9:15 p.m. arrival in Alba; and a 9:30 p.m. arrival in Troy.
All families and/or children, youth, adults from the Canton, Alba, Troy area interested in participating should make a reservation (with money) by Sunday, Aug. 1 by stopping at the Church of Christ, corner of East Union Street and North Minnequa Avenue, Canton; or at the Canton Independent Sentinel/Troy Gazette Register Office, Canton; or at the MC Insurance Office in Troy.
