Valley Relief Council observes anniversary
The Valley Relief Council just observed it's second anniversary. It was created shortly after the flood of 2001 to assist homeowners repair and return to their homes.
Work crews have come in from all over the world to help accomplish this effort.
Around a "dozen" homes still need work and while crews have taken the summer off, there is a crew from Washington, D.C. area returning to help in the rebuilding, they are expected to arrive around Oct. 16.
The Valley Relief Council is also focusing on a new mission of helping families in the area with limited income and assets who need small projects done to their homes.
VRC is also creating a Board of Directors to oversee this process.
People interested in serving on this board may contact VRC Chairperson Lucinda Brown at (607) 731-9595 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
You need not have actual construction experience to apply, VRC seeks caring people with ideas on how to make this project happen effectively.
