Man accused of burglarizing homes
A Jersey Shore man accused of burglarizing several residences in Terry Township and Albany Township was recently ordered incarcerated in lieu of $25,000 bail.
According to information filed with Magisterial District Judge Fred Wheaton, Timothy David Worrell, 25, has been charged by state police with two counts of burglary, theft by unlawful taking, and receiving stolen property. Worrell is accused of having entered the residences of Janet Hall of Wyalusing, Eva Wilson of Wyalusing, Dawn Snyder of Wyalusing, Jean Hardensteine of Wyalusing, and Marc Teeter of New Albany between Sept. 3 and Sept. 9 and removing various prescription medications.
In addition, Worrell is also accused of having attempted to gain access to the residence of Kathleen Hiduk in the same time period by trying to pry open a back door.
Police said that their investigation eventually led them to contact Worrell about the incidents. Worrell initially denied any involvement in the burglaries, according to police, but when confronted with certain information, admitted to breaking into homes owned by the elderly because they often have prescription drug medication. Worrell admitted to being a prescription drug addict, police said.
