A Wyalusing man was arrested Friday by state police after police said he attempted to arrange unlawful sexual contact with a 13-year-old juvenile in Sayre Borough.

According to information from state police at Towanda, Douglas Todd Jones, 34, was charged with criminal solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors.

Police said charges against Jones were filed after a search warrant turned up repeated communications between him and the juvenile. The communications occurred over cellular phone and Facebook, police said.

According to police, many of the communications were sexual in nature, and Jones apparently had attempted to arrange a meeting to have sexual relations with the juvenile.

Police remind parents to frequently monitor their children's social networking and cellular communications with people they do not know.

Jones was arraigned in district court and remanded to the Bradford County Jail in lieu of $150,000 bail. Jones' preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 7, according to information filed in district court.
