WYSOX TOWNSHIP - A man was killed on Friday in a motorcycle accident at the intersection of Pipher Street and U.S. Route 6 in Wysox Township, police said.

The accident occurred at 10:25 a.m. as the motorcyclist was traveling south on Pipher Street and a 2005 Volvo tractor trailer was traveling east on Route 6, state police said.

According to state police, the motorcyclist attempted to make a right turn from Pipher street onto Route 6 westbound, but his turn was too wide. While making the turn, the motorcycle traveled into the eastbound lane of Route 6 and the motorcyclist lost control of his vehicle. The driver of the tractor trailer was unable to stop his vehicle, which collided with the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman, according to police, who added that the driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured.

The state police said they have not yet released the name of the motorcyclist because his next of kin have not yet been notified of his death.

The state police have also not yet released the name of the driver of the tractor trailer.

The motorcycle was a 1999 Harley Davidson Sportster, according to the police.
