State police have released the name of the man who was killed in a motor vehicle accident Tuesday evening on the Milan-East Smithfield Road in Smithfield Township, police said.

The accident claimed the life of Shon Seeley, 29, of Troy, state police at Towanda said.

A female member of Seeley's family confirmed that Shon Seeley is a co-owner of the Milky Way Farms business in the Troy area, which includes a farm, restaurant, store and an operation for making dairy products.

Shon Seeley's wife had given birth on Monday, and he was on his way to see her and the baby at the hospital when the accident occurred, the family member said.

The cause of Seeley death was blunt force trauma, Bradford County Deputy Coroner Jay Cummings said.

Seeley was driving a 2012 Subaru Forester east on the Milan-East Smithfield Road near Sanctuary Hill Road when, for an unknown reason, he traveled off the southern side of the roadway and onto the shoulder, according to the state police at Towanda.

Seeley overcorrected and the vehicle traveled back across the roadway and up an embankment, where it struck a tree, continued up the embankment, became airborne, and struck another tree.

The vehicle came to rest on its roof.

The accident occurred at 6:59 p.m. Tuesday. Seeley was pronounced dead at the scene.
