Man transported to hospital after collision in Towanda
TOWANDA - A Moosic, Pa., man was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital in Towanda after his SUV was struck in the rear Friday on York Avenue in Towanda, police said.
The accident occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. as Judith Heyer, 65, of Towanda and Sean Gaidula, 36, of Moosic were both driving north on York Avenue, police said.
Gaidula stopped his SUV for the vehicle in front of him, which was in the process of making a left turn into a driveway, police said.
Heyer failed to see Gaidula's stopped vehicle in time and struck the rear of the SUV, police said.
Heyer's Chevrolet Impala sedan had disabling front-end damage and Gaidula's SUV sustained moderate damage, Towanda police said.
Gaidula was treated and released from Memorial Hospital, hospital spokesman Jeff Russell said.
Heyer reported that she was uninjured, Towanda Police officer Kyle Wisel said.
