MONTOURSVILLE - The final section of Route 4014 (Milan Road) in Smithfield and Ulster townships, Bradford County, is scheduled for reconstruction and resurfacing beginning July 8.

The project begins just east of the intersection with Sunnyside Road to the intersection with Route 220.

Work along this three-mile section of roadway will include a new box culvert over Bucks Creek, rehabilitation of another bridge's parapets and an epoxy overlay will be applied to the deck of a third structure. Roadway drainage will be upgraded along with the reconstruction and resurfacing of the roadway. New guiderail, pavement markings and centerline rumble strips will also be installed.

Traffic flow through the work zone will be controlled by flaggers and restricted to a single lane.

The road will be closed for approximately 40 days at the site of the new box culvert installation over Bucks Creek, which is 1,500 feet east of the intersection with Sunnyside Road. This closure will begin the third week of August, and during this time traffic will be detoured onto Laurel Hill Road. Motorists are encouraged to drive safely and plan extra travel time if using this route.

All work is scheduled to be completed by November except for the final seeding of the project will take place in the spring of 2014.
