The man who was injured in a motorcycle accident Saturday on U.S. Route 6 in Standing Stone Township was listed in critical condition on Monday at a local hospital.

The accident occurred at 4:27 p.m., when 48-year-old Stephen P. Ofier of Falls, Pa. was driving a 2000 Harley Davidson 1550 motorcycle east on Route 6 at an excessive speed, police said.

Ofier lost control of the vehicle on sharp left-hand curve located west of Goff Road, state police said.

The vehicle left the south side of the roadway and struck two concrete barriers that had been positioned off the south side of the roadway, police said.

Ofier was flown by emergency medical helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. Ofier was listed in critical condition at the hospital on Monday, a spokesperson for the hospital said.
