As of the end of the poll period on Saturday evening, with 521 responses received, the breakdown was as follows: Celebrating. 23, 4 percent; Having the sense that it's a new beginning, 134, 26 percent; Having the renewed motivation to pursue personal goals, 57, 11 percent; Watching the ball drop, 14, 3 percent; Spending time with friends or family, 140, 27 percent; Making predictions, 2, less than one percent, Making resolutions, 2, less than one percent; Reflecting on the year(s) gone by, 48, 9 percent; The sense of excitement/anticipation in the air, 29, 6 percent; Other, 72, 14 percent.
