Smithfield Township has a new tax collector. All Smithfield Township and county taxes are to be paid to Charlene Edger; school taxes are to be paid at any Citizens & Northern Bank or mailed to Citizens & Northern, P.O. Box 637, Wellsboro, PA 16901 (make checks payable to Athens School District).

Edger's tax office is on Hoblet Road two driveways past Kennedy's Stove Center on the left coming from Smithfield/Springfield Road. Her office hours are from 2-6 p.m. Sept. 12 and 26, Oct. 3 and 24, Nov. 7 and 28, and Dec. 5 and 19. The address is RR2 Box 222A, Columbia Cross Roads, PA 16914, and the phone number is (570) 245-1851.
