As of Thursday night, no one had been arrested for committing an armed robbery that occurred earlier that day at the Dandy Mini Mart on U.S. Route 6 in Wyalusing Borough, state police said.

Two individuals entered the convenience store at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, both armed with "long guns," the state police at Towanda said in a press release that they issued Thursday afternoon.

They took cash and cigarettes and then fled the scene, state police said.

The two robbers were wearing ski masks, said Jack Felt, the assistant general manager for Dandy Mini Marts Inc. During the robbery, one of robbers pointed a weapon at one of the clerks, who was behind a cash register at the time, Felt said. "I've been told it was ... a shotgun," he said.

The robbers are Caucasian, and one of them is male, the press release said.

The robbers did not discharge their weapons during the incident, and no one was injured, Felt said.

"Thank God no one was hurt," he said.

At the time of the robbery, there were two clerks in the store, and no customers, Felt said.

Felt declined to say how much money was taken.

The robbers took several packs of cigarettes, he said.

Felt said he did not know yet what the robbers had said to the clerks.

According to reports on the police scanner, the robbers fled the scene in a vehicle which apparently traveled east on U.S. Route 6, then turned right onto state Route 2010 and then turned left onto state Route 187, heading in the direction of Sugar Run.

Based on reports on the police scanner, the vehicle may have been a Ford Expedition or Ford Explorer.

Anyone with information is asked to call the state police at Towanda at (570) 265-2186, police said.

A cash reward may be available for information leading to an arrest or conviction in this case, the press release said. Callers can remain anonymous, the press release said.

No further information on the robbery was available from the state police.
