No new information in Hoagland death
No new information was available as of Tuesday as the Bradford County coroner waited for the results of toxicology tests before making a ruling on the cause of the death of 49-year-old Patricia Hoagland of Towanda.
On Thursday, her body was found at a swimming area in Franklin Township. The death is considered suspicious by the state police.
Hoagland's body was found in the early afternoon on Thursday at the Lamoka swimming area on the Schrader Creek in Franklin Township, according to the state police at Towanda and the coroner.
The swimming area is located on Schrader Creek Road, Franklindale Fire Chief Donald Stranger Sr. said.
Hoagland was pronounced dead by the Bradford County Coroner's Office at 1:54 p.m. on Thursday, according to a press release from the state police at Towanda.
Other than their press release, the state police have declined to provide any additional information about Hoagland's death.
Bradford County Coroner Thomas Carman added that the investigation has led to knowledge of how Hoagland arrived at the swimming area, but he said details couldn't be released because it was an open investigation.
