The driver of a pickup truck was injured Saturday after his vehicle overturned in Barton.

The truck, operated by Terry L. Howe, 47, of Wellsburg, N.Y., was traveling west on State Route 17C when it struck the rumble strips on the roadway's south shoulder at about 10:10 a.m. Saturday, according to a release from the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, which investigated the accident.

Police said Howe then overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The truck exited off the roadway's north shoulder, struck two sign posts and overturned twice, according to police. Howe received a shoulder injury and minor facial injuries, police said.

Police charged Howe with moving unsafely from a lane, according to police. Howe will answer the charge in Town of Barton court at a later date, police said.

Waverly village police, the Waverly-Barton Fire Department and Greater Valley EMS assisted sheriff's deputies at the scene.
