One injured in Monroe Township crash
MONROE TWP. - A Glen Lyon, Pa., man was transported via helicopter for medical treatment Monday after the motorcycle he was riding crashed into a car on U.S. Route 220 just south of Monroeton.
Leonard V. Lukasavage, 49, of Glen Lyon, Pa., suffered minor injuries in the crash, according to state police at Towanda. The accident occurred as Lukasavage, operating a 2006 Harley-Davidson 883 Sportster, and Martin L. Robinson, 85, of New Albany, operating a 2010 Ford Focus, were both traveling north on U.S. Route 220, police said, when Robinson's vehicle struck the back of Lukasavage's motorcycle.
Police said Robinson was charged in the incident.
Jim Kobbe, a lieutenant with the Monroe Hose Company, which responded to the scene, confirmed that the motorcycle rider was taken from the scene via helicopter. According to state police, Lukasavage was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital.
The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Tracey's Car Care.
