PennDOT posting four more roads in Bradford County

Four more roads in Bradford County are to be posted with permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restrictions, according to a press release from PennDOT.

The following, the release stated, will be posted:

"State Route 3009 (Burlington Turnpike) in Monroe, Towanda and Burlington townships, Burlington Drive in Monroe Borough; state Route 3018 (Bridge Street Hill Road) in Towanda Township, from Old Plank Road to Towanda; state Route 4002 (Shotgun Hollow Road, German Road) from Mac Road to Saco Road in Burlington and Ulster townships; and state Route 4018 (Ridgebury Road, Wolcott Hollow Road) from Middletown to Greens Landing in Ridgebury and Athens townships.

"The postings are being made on the basis of traffic and engineering studies indicating that these highways may be damaged by the use of vehicles that exceed the restriction," the release stated. "School buses and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings."

When the signs are posted, which the release stated should begin on Dec. 30, the postings will take effect.
