PennDOT posting three additional roads in Bradford County

Three more roads in Bradford County will soon be posted with permanent, year-round, 10-ton weight restrictions, according to a press release from PennDOT.

The release stated that the three state highways are: state Route 1052 (Ridge Road) in Sheshequin, Athens and Litchfield townships, from the intersection of Sheshequin Road to the intersection with North Rome Road; state Route 3021 (Windfall Road) in Leroy and Granville townships, from Route 414 to the intersection with Cowley Road; and state Route 3028 (Windfall Road, Cowley Road) in Alba Borough, Canton and Granville townships, between Route 14 and Route 514.

"The postings are being made on the basis of traffic and engineering studies indicating that these highways may be damaged by the use of vehicles that exceed the restriction," the release stated. "School buses and local-delivery trucks are exempted from the postings.

"The postings will take effect as soon as the required signing is erected. A PennDOT maintenance crew will begin placing the road posting signs on March 24."

You should visit Hunsinger Road in Cherry Twp., Sullivan Co. The gas company turned it from paved to cow path. Literally. It's impassable. Eleven homes are now secluded because their road is impassable. School buses, fire trucks, ambulances, police cars.. Nothing can get to these people.. They used bulldozers to pull equipment through, as the road completely collapses under the weight.
