Waverly man arrested on warrant

Waverly Village police have apprehended a Waverly man sought in relation to a Nov. 17 domestic incident, according to information from village police.

Police arrested Buck Lee Bates, 28, Sunday at his Fulton Street residence on a warrant for his arrest, police said. Bates is alleged to have attacked a female victim during the domestic incident, causing injury, police said.

Police charged Bates with criminal contempt, endangering the welfare of a child, unlawful imprisonment and assault in the third degree, according to police.

Bates was arraigned Sunday in Village of Waverly court and was remanded to the Tioga County Jail without bail to await further court action, police said.
