If the turnout at Thursday's re-opening of the McDonald's in South Waverly is any indication, Valley residents sure missed their Big Macs.

Throughout the day, cars filled the North Keystone Avenue restaurant's parking lot, and the line of cars waiting to use the two-lane drive-thru poured out into the street. At around 11 a.m., two people stood in the middle of North Keystone Avenue, directing traffic.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held, and a bugler played as members of VFW Post 1536 in Sayre raised the American flag along with the McDonald's flag.

The old McDonald's building closed in July and was demolished to make way for the new facility, which features cozy seating areas, a touch-screen video game table and modern decorative touches.
