Route 220 reconstruction in Monroe Borough begins next week
MONTOURSVILLE - Reconstruction of a section of Route 220 pavement from just north of Burlington Turnpike to just south of Route 414 in Monroe Borough is scheduled to begin next week.
During reconstruction, northbound traffic will be restricted to a single lane through the work zone, while southbound traffic will be detoured along Route 414 and Burlington Turnpike. The detour will last until the second week of August.
Motorists are reminded to pay full attention to their driving when approaching and passing through the work zone.
Last year's work included drainage improvements, guiderail upgrade, membrane waterproofing of bridge decks, washout repairs, base repairs and pavement resurfacing from one mile north of Meas Road in Albany Township to the bridge over Towanda Creek near Berwick Drive in Monroe Borough.
This is part of a two-year, $4,147,000 resurfacing, reconstruction and safety improvement project on a 5.7-mile section of Route 220 in Bradford County.
The project is expected to be completed by late this September.
