Royalty crowned on opening night of this year's Riverfest
On opening night of Riverfest the bleachers were filled with young and old, and family and friends of this years participants in the Little Miss and Little Mister Riverfest pageant.
The pageant began as MC Bob Brenner announced each contestant as they walked to the stage and took their seats, waiting to answer questions he would be asking them. Little Mister 2012, Mason Lowman, held a flag as everyone stood while MC Bob played the Star Spangled Banner.
Each participant then took their turn at the microphone to talk with MC Bob and answer some questions. To finalize the last portion of the judges scoring process all the participants took part and did two dances they learned at an ice cream party/preliminary judging that took place a few days prior to the pageant. While the judges were tallying up scores the Country Connection dancers entertained the audience. Pageant coordinator, Diane Bahr thanked the local businesses and individuals who helped sponsor and support the pageant. She thanked all of the contestants for participating in the pageant and told them they are all winners in the eyes of their families and friends, noting the pageant is for fun and making new friends.
MC Bob announced the winners: Little Mister third place for 2013 was Bayley Poll from Towanda; second place Haven Poll from Towanda; and 2013 Little Mister Riverfest went to Mason Close from Troy.
Little Miss third place went to Mya Savercool from Towanda; second place was Mora Fitzgerald from New Albany; and 2013 Little Miss Riverfest went to Savannah Gable from Towanda.
