FOR THE REVIEW

According to a press release from Scoville-Meno, Steve Scoville, president of the Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships, is asking families and businesses in the Valley to help support the troops this holiday.

The release continues:

Employees for Scoville-Meno Dodge in Sayre will be accepting items from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and Saturday Nov. 21. Additionally on Saturday, a craft table set up in the dealership showroom will allow area children to create cards that will be sent with the shipment. Pre-made cards will also be available to allow everyone the opportunity to send some well wishes.

"The holiday season is particularly difficult when you are away from home - even more so when you're in harm's way," Scoville said. "We invite the community to join us in offering even the most modest items to our troops. A package from home is priceless. Please show your generosity and help support the men and women who are sacrificing so much for our country."

There is a list of recommended items for donation available from any Scoville-Meno employee.

Cider and donuts will be available, donated from Bill Daniels and Stroehmann Bakeries. The Waverly VFW has also assisted in support of this effort. A 50/50 raffle will also be available. Proceeds will assist in purchasing additional items and defraying shipping costs.

Scoville-Meno Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep of Sayre is located at 102 Spring St. The dealership is open from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.

The Scoville-Meno Family of Dealerships includes five area dealerships: Scoville-Meno Auto Plaza in Owego, a GM dealership; Scoville-Meno Chevrolet-Pontiac-GMC in Bainbridge; Scoville-Meno Honda in Oneonta; and Scoville-Meno Dodge-Chrysler-Jeep dealerships in Sayre, Pa., and Sidney, N.Y.
