During the Wyalusing Firemen's Carnival, Keah Chase of Overton and Travis Davenport of Homets Ferry were two busy seniors.
The two, who will be graduating from Wyalusing High School next year, recently completed their senior project by helping out with various activities during the set up phase, as well as when the carnival was in operation.
Davenport said that he spent of lot of time before the carnival opened, hauling out benches and putting out and trash cans.
"I also helped put the tents up," Davenport said.
Chase said she worked in the kitchen a lot. One of her jobs was putting blue cheese into individuals containers for dipping sauces.
"I had to clean salt and pepper shakers, a bunch of them," Chase recalled.
Both Chase and Davenport also spent a lot of time cleaning various areas, and helping setting up sites throughout the carnival. In addition, they also worked in the kitchen, cooking and serving meals for the other workers at the carnival.
Carnival volunteer Carol Goodman explained that she served as advisor to Chase and Davenport as they worked on the project. She said she was contacted by the school district, which made the arrangement for the two seniors to devote 25 hours of their time to assisting at the carnival as their senior project.
Another thing the two will be doing, Goodman said, is making a scrap book of this year's carnival - which will include pictures of all the food, games, and tents as a record for the fire company.
Part of the project includes Chase and Davenport putting together a PowerPoint presentation of their efforts at the Wyalusing Firemen's Carnival which will be viewed by their high school advisor, Goodman explained.
