Three more people have been arrested recently on warrants obtained by the Bradford County Drug Task Force following an investigation into illegal drug transactions in the area, according to a press release from the Athens Township Police Department.

The arrests are part of a string of drug arrests announced in December by Bradford County District Attorney Dan Barrett as part of a "drug harvest." The arrests are the result of a two-year investigation conducted by the Drug Task Force, as well as by members of various local law enforcement agencies, the Pennsylvania State Police, the New York State Police, the sheriff's department of Tioga County, N.Y., and the Elmira, N.Y. city police, Barrett said in December.

A total of 17 arrest warrants were obtained as part of the investigation, Barrett said in December, and the drugs involved in the investigation included marijuana, crack cocaine, as well as prescription drugs being sold illegally.

The release continues:

Arrested as a result of the investigation were:

Leslie John Bailey, 48, of Third Street in Towanda was arrested on Dec. 22, 2009. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Timothy Clark of Towanda and released on his own recognizance. He will appear before Magistrate Clark at a later date for a preliminary hearing. The charges stem from a April 30, 2008, incident during which Bailey allegedly sold a quantity of marijuana to an undercover agent. Bailey was charged with possession of a controlled substance and delivery of a controlled substance.

Lori Lynn Nichols, 45, of Robb Street in Sayre was arrested on Dec. 29, 2009. She was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw of Athens Township and released on her own recognizance. She will appear at a later date for a preliminary hearing. The charges stem from a June 2009 incident during which Nichols allegedly sold prescription medication to an undercover agent. Nichols was charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.

Eric F. Collier, 39, of Phoenix Avenue in Elmira, N.Y., was arrested on Dec. 28, 2009, as a fugitive from justice and was held in the Chemung County jail. He was extradited back to Pennsylvania on Jan. 4, was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Michael Shaw of Athens Township, and was committed to the Bradford County jail in lieu of $25,000 bail. He will appear before Magistrate Shaw for a preliminary hearing at a later date. The charges stem from a December 2008 incident during which Collier allegedly sold a quantity of crack cocaine to an undercover officer. Collier was charged with possession of a controlled substance, delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility.
