Mark your calendars now for the seventh annual Tinsel-n-Lights holiday festival beginning at 5:25 p.m. and continuing until 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, at Waverly's Muldoon Park.

Tinsel-n-Lights is a free family holiday festival that offers something for everyone. Festivities will include live holiday music from local groups, live reindeer, horse and wagon rides, ice sculpting, warming fires, a manger display, free family portraits and food and refreshments. A couple highlights of the evening will be the arrival of Santa Claus at 6:30 p.m. and fireworks beginning at 7:15 p.m.

Committee members have been working throughout the year to make this year's Tinsel-n-Lights a memorable experience. Committee members include: Dr. Joe Picco, DDS; Renee Kinsley, CPA; Kim Depew, marketing manager at Tioga State Bank; Jean Barber, Stateline Auto Auction; Kyle Traub, Waverly Recreation; Jessica Schillmoeller, Waverly office manager at Tioga State Bank; Mike McMahon, superintendent of Waverly Central Schools; Fred Daniels, Lions Club; Patsy Croft; and Frank Como, Esq.

"Tinsel-n-Lights is becoming an annual tradition for many families throughout the Valley," Depew said. "It is a nice opportunity to socialize with friends and neighbors during the holiday season and to enjoy the winter activities going on throughout the evening."

Tinsel-n-Lights would not be possible without the donations made by many local businesses and individuals. It is only with local donations that Tinsel-n-Lights can remain a free family event. If you are interested in making a donation to Tinsel-n-Lights, call (607) 565-3319.
