Fine Art Show and Sale in Owego; Aug. 18
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the En Plein Air Fine Art Show and Sale, presented by the Tioga County Council on the Arts. This year's edition will be held at Draper Park in downtown Owego from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18. The exhibit of two- and three-dimensional fine art is juried, with a Best in Show award of $100 plus four honorable mention awards at $50 a piece.
There is still time to register for the show. The entry fee is a modest $30 and the Arts Council takes no commission on your sales. Also, there are a limited number of community tent spaces available for an additional $10.

Leadership Tioga to kickoff on Sept. 11
Leadership Tioga will begin the new program year on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at Turkey Trot Acres in Candor, N.Y. It is also the same day as the National Day of Service and Remembrance.
Leadership Tioga is a program designed to assist, educate, inform and empower leaders. The goal is to develop individuals for future leadership roles in our county. The program is in its 14th year of operation and over 250 people have completed the class.

Wellness clinics offered at Stray Haven
Stray Haven Humane Society & SPCA has announced weekly wellness clinics at their on-site veterinary clinic. Appointments are available on Fridays only for both well and sick visits for small animals. Routine exams and vaccinations as well as non-emergent illnesses can be seen during these appointments.
Prices vary and are based upon income. The clinic at Stray Haven also continues to offer spay and neuter services to the general public through their Stray Cat and Low Income programs.

Keene announces campaign events
Jerry Keene, Tioga County New York's district attorney and Republican candidate for Tioga County judge, recently announced a series of campaign events around the county.
The six "Summer Picnics" will be held in community parks in separate towns and will give voters the opportunity to meet Jerry Keene and discuss his campaign for Tioga County judge.
According to a press release received from Keene, the events are designed to provide accessibility to Keene and offer a channel for voters to express their views regarding the upcoming elections for Tioga County judge.
Traditional summer picnic foods and beverages will be available.
Keene is expected to be on the ballot for the Thursday, Sept. 13 Republican Primary Election as well as the Tuesday, Nov. 6 General Election.
The picnics will take place at the following: Monday, Aug, 13, Hickories Park pavilion No. 1 in Owego, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 14, Ransom Park, Tioga Center, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Aug. 15, Waverly Glen pavilion No. 3, Waverly, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.; Monday, Aug. 20, Nichols Park, Spencer, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, Aug. 21, Trout Ponds, Newark Valley, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.; and on Wednesday, Aug. 22, McNeil Ball Field and Park, Candor, N.Y. from 5 to 7 p.m.
