Tioga County Open Door Mission announces food giveaway
The Tioga County Open Door Mission is having another food giveaway on Friday, March 22, at The Red Door located at 359 Broad St. in Waverly, N.Y. The giveaway will begin at 1 p.m. and last until the food is gone.
The Mission will sponsor food giveaways every other Friday at The Red Door in Waverly until further notice. Since starting this program in Waverly three months ago, the Mission finds that the number of families served has doubled. In order to meet this increasing demand for food, the Mission is asking the community to help them meet this need to feed the hungry.
Anyone able to do so may drop off their non-perishable food items or monetary donations to The Red Door, 359 Broad St., Waverly or The Open Door Mission, 425 North Ave., Owego, Monday through Saturday. Pickup can be arranged for large food donations by calling (607) 687-1121.
