The Tioga County Fair opened on Tuesday with the 4-H Dairy Bar and Food Booth ready for business. On the midway were several rides and food vendors ready to welcome guests to the first fair since the Flood of 2011.

The busy entertainment schedule gets started today with the gates opening at 9 a.m., and preparations all day long for the coming 4-H animal shows that will culminate with the livestock auction on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Midway will be opening at 1:30 p.m. today, giving people their chance to win prizes, or to experience some of the rides set up by Midway Rides of Utica.

The talk of the town is the first round of the demolition derby scheduled for 7 p.m. today, probably the most popular event of the fair. The demolition derby will also take place on Friday evening at 7 p.m.
