Tioga Downs looking to fill 80 positions

Tioga Downs Casino is looking to fill many positions throughout the facility as they prepare for the upcoming 2010 Harness Racing season, according to information from Tioga Downs.

The information continues:

Tioga Downs will be taking applications immediately and will be holding two job fairs with the first scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, and the second from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23.

Tioga Downs is looking to hire people to work in all areas of the operation. These jobs range from part-time, full-time and seasonal employment. During the job fairs, department managers will conduct interviews, pre-employment testing and make same-day job offers.

At Tuesday's job fair, local and regional employers will also be in attendance and the New York State Department of Labor will be on hand to assist job seekers.

Businesses slated to attend Tuesday include: Tioga Downs Casino, Manpower, Celebrating Homes, Impress USA Inc., Chemung ARC, Elmira Business Institute, Guthrie Healthcare System, New York Army National Guard, Tioga County Veterans Service Agency, and the NYS Department of Labor.

Tioga Downs kicks off their fifth season of live harness racing on Saturday, May 1 with the 3rd Annual Derby Fest featuring an exciting line up of racing, live music, traditional mint juleps, and more.

Tioga Downs is open year-round with over 750 video gaming machines, simulcast horse racing, a buffet restaurant, food outlets, a sports bar and special live entertainment events. The property employs almost 200 people and is looking to hire an additional 80-plus employees for the racing season.
