Music event to benefit local shelters

On Feb. 23, beginning at 1 p.m., organizers of Shelter Slam will once again present a great line-up of musicians as they continue their efforts to raise dollars to support animals in need. The event, Shelter Slam 4, will take place at The Choconut Inn located at 10 Quaker Lake Rd. in Friendsville, Pa., and will feature 16 bands.

Among those slated to perform are One Click Culture, Rize, Mobday, Highline, Hindsight, Recycled Zombies, Pawn Shop, Wreckless Marci, White Rabbit, Bobby G & Timeless, Break of Aggression, Krooked Knuckles, Mean Streak, Agony Hill, and Jimmi Jones and The Family Jewels.

Admission to the event is $10, or guests can bring pet food or horse grooming supplies of equal value.

All proceeds from Shelter Slam 4 will benefit local shelters and rescues including Project Paw, Lost Pawz, K.A.R.E., and Doxy's Horse Recovery.

Every business should have a plan

The Tioga County Chamber of Commerce and the American Red Cross are working together to present an informative businesses meeting, "Every Business Should Have a Plan" on Wednesday, Feb. 27. The program will run from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and will be held at the Owego Treadway Inn and Conference Center. The American Red Cross will provide you with information and helpful tools that will help you prepare your plan.
