The Tioga United Way teamed up with the Owego Rotary to make a $1,400 special allocation to the Apalachin Library to be used for children's furniture.

"Tables that we currently have for children to use are very old and not very sturdy," said Catherine Sorber, library director. "Many children in our area attending story hour and other programs will greatly benefit from this purchase," she added.

This special allocation was made possible through donations made to the Tioga United Way and Owego Rotary. "It is great that two organizations that are about helping others' can join hands in carrying out their missions," said Terry Steenburg, Owego Rotary president.

"Our thanks go to individuals and local businesses who contribute to the Tioga United Way," said Brian Eldridge, executive director of the Tioga United Way. "Your contributions help agencies every day and the allocation, partnered with the Owego Rotary Club, is one example of ways we can work together to make our communities special."
