TOWANDA - Towanda Borough will pick up its residents' Christmas trees at curbside this year, after all.

While the Towanda Borough Council decided on Dec. 7 not to fund the pickup of Christmas trees this year, the council on Monday reversed itself and allocated money for the pickup.

No date for the pickup has been set yet, but it is expected to take place "around the middle or latter part of January," Towanda Borough Manager Tom Fairchild Jr. said.

The date of the Christmas tree pickup will be announced in The Daily Review, on the borough's Web site, and on the community message board in Madigan Gateway Park.
