Final arrangements are being made for the Towanda's annual Halloween Parade sponsored by the Towanda Fire Department. This year's parade is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26. The parade marshall will be Andy Space.

Susan Webb, the parade chairman wishes to remind everyone that candy must be handed or tossed by walkers only. Candy is not to be thrown from any moving vehicles. This is done to ensure the safety of small children watching the parade.

Float registration will be accepted until Wednesday, Oct. 23, and can be done by calling (570) 265-2222. Registrants are reminded that line up is at 6 p.m.

The parade committee would like to welcome everyone to participate in this year's parade. High school bands receive a donation to defer costs from the parade fund. There is no charge to enter a float or be a costumed marcher. The parade is funded entirely by donations from area residents and businesses.

Please come and support this community event. Monetary prizes are given for first, second and third place floats in various categories.

Without your support the parade would not happen.
