Troy Chamber looks to 2014
TROY - The Troy Chamber of Commerce Wednesday elected officers for 2014 and reviewed the recent "Hometown Christmas" event that was held in Troy.
During a meeting at the new Troy Community Hospital, the chamber elected Krystle Bristol president, Robyn Chamberlain vice president, Rachel Higham secretary, and Elizabeth Card treasurer.
Former chamber president Debi Hulslander thought a new president could bring in fresh ideas.
In addition, chamber member Deb Harer reported on the recent "Hometown Christmas" event that was held in downtown Troy, sponsored by the chamber.
According to Harer, it was reported to be "quite busy" until about 12:30 p.m. The event took place the same day that many people attended the Troy football game in Towanda.
Chamber member Shelly Walcheski said that people commented that the event looked like Wellsboro's Dickens of a Christmas event, except that it was in Troy.
Walcheski said the event will likely be held again next year and hope was expressed that it would grow.
It was noted that people have been commenting favorably on the Christmas lights in downtown Troy.
