Two join GVEMS Board of Directors
Two new directors were recently seated to the Greater Valley EMS Board for 2012.
Denny Thomas was appointed to replace Bill Hotchkiss and Ron Keene was elected to replace Fred Luther; both had reached their term limits on the board.
Thomas is currently in his sixth year as mayor of Sayre Borough and works at State Line Auto Auction in Waverly as a dealer representative in the marketing department. He brings practical experience to the group as he has spent many years in community service, including volunteering on the ambulance in the early 1980s and serving for 12 years on the Sayre borough council.
Thomas, who also serves as a trustee of Guthrie Health, adds, "I'm excited for the opportunity to be on the board and help Greater Valley EMS continue to prosper."
Waverly resident Ron Keene brings a lifetime of community commitment to the table. He is a retired business owner from the Keene Service Center of Broad Street in Waverly and currently serves as president of the Friends of Waverly Cemetery. Keene was on the GVEMS board of directors when the Lehigh Avenue station was under construction in 1996 and is familiar with the support required for a growing company.
Board chair Don Homan and vice-chair Tony LaRock were re-elected to serve another year in their respective positions at the January meeting.
