Two people injured in separate accidents Friday still hospitalized

Two people injured in separate motor vehicle accidents Friday were still hospitalized as of Saturday evening.

Annette Lee, 49, of Gillett, who was injured in an accident after the pickup truck she was driving was struck by a tractor trailer Friday in South Creek Township, was listed in critical condition Saturday evening at the Robert Packer Hospital, a hospital spokesperson said. The accident occurred at around 10 a.m. Friday near Mott Town Road and Route 14 in South Creek Township. Lee suffered severe head injuries in the crash, police said.

Richard Heffner, 39, of Canton, who was injured in an accident involving two dump trucks that overturned onto their sides, was listed in fair/stable condition Saturday evening at the Robert Packer Hospital, a hospital spokesperson said. Heffner had been listed in critical condition Friday evening.

Both Lee and Heffner were flown by emergency medical helicopter Friday to the Robert Packer Hospital.

The intersection of 14 and Mott Town is a dangerous intersection, although it does not seem it. A person entering from Mott town can not see a car headed north bound until it is too late sometimes. Also I have noticed that since there is no "TOWN" there, people begin speeding up in that area and have tried to pass me on the right. I am not sure of the circumstances of the accident, however this situation should urge us all to slow down. There is no reason to fly up and down the highway. Plan ahead and leave early. also Get off the darn phone so you can pay attention
