Ulster Road drainage improvement scheduled in Bradford County

A PennDOT maintenance crew in Bradford County will replace a large cross pipe to improve drainage along Route 4001 (Ulster Road) in Smithfield Township near the end of this month.

The work will take place over two days, July 23 and 24, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The old pipe being replaced with a new one is located almost one-half mile west of the intersection with Saco Road and just over one-half mile east of the intersection with Mac Road.

The road will be closed in this area during the times listed.

Traffic will be directed to use a red-arrow detour, following Covered Bridge Road, Shotgun Hollow Road and Mac Road while the work is under way.
