The Valley Pays It Forward, a donation drive to assist those in central New Jersey affected by Hurricane Sandy, will send a van full of cleaning supplies to a New Jersey town next weekend, organizers said.

Williams Auto Group has donated the use of a cargo van to transport donations to the Stafford Township Storm Relief Center in Manahawkin, N.J., said Melissa Post of Sayre, who organized the donation drive along with Jenn Magnussen of Athens. A group plans to leave for Manahawkin Saturday, she said.

The Sayre Theatre and Waverly High School will continue to collect donations during their regular hours through Wednesday, Post said.

Needed items include buckets, sponges, scrub pads and brushes, work gloves, reusable towels, mold and mildew blockers, household cleaners, push brooms, mops and paper towels.

Cash donations that the group received were used to purchase further supplies with the help of employees at Horn's True Value in Sayre, Post said.

Waverly High School students will help load the van at the school on Thursday, Post said. The group will recruit volunteers to continue loading the van Friday at the group's staging area, the Greater Valley EMS headquarters on North Lehigh Avenue in Sayre.
