Village elections are today in Nichols and Waverly, N.Y.

Voters will decide on their local government representation in the villages of Nichols and Waverly in Tioga County, N.Y. today.

In Waverly, three people are running for three village trustee positions on the village board of trustees. Running for Waverly Village Trustee are incumbent Mary Gorman and newcomers Joseph Chandler and William Kraus. Chandler and Kraus will replace trustees Tom Bellinger and Dave McIsaac, who both did not file petitions to retain their seats.

Trustees are elected to two-year terms in the Village of Waverly.

In Nichols, Ronald Chase, David Hazard and Lesley Pelotte have filed petitions to run for two village trustee seats currently held by Don DeWitt and Deputy Mayor Esther Woods.

Woods will run against Nichols Mayor Doug Horton for his seat. Both trustees and the mayor are elected to two-year terms in the Village of Nichols.

Both elections will be held from noon to 9 p.m. today. Voting in the Village of Waverly will occur at the Waverly Village Hall Annex on Broad Street and voting in Nichols will be held at the Nichols Elementary School on Ro-Ki Boulevard in Nichols.
