The Waverly Business Association held its fourth annual Beer and Wine Festival Saturday, serving a variety of beverages to a sold-out crowd at The LOOM to raise money for its programs.

In addition to over 20 beer and wine vendors from local and regional wineries and craft breweries, the fundraiser featured a band in the hall's lower level and food catered by the Rail House Restaurant in Waverly. WBA volunteers served samples of each beverage to the crowd, which packed the second floor.

Response to the festival has grown each year, with the event's $35 tickets consistently selling out or coming close, said Bill Millhollen, co-owner of The LOOM and WBA treasurer.

"We had a very good turnout," Millhollen said of Saturday's event. "We're gaining momentum."

Funds raised through the annual festival, which Millhollen said is the WBA's major fundraiser this year, will go back to the business community through event sponsorships, a high school scholarship and the WBA's other programs.
