Troy School Board elects officers

The Troy Area School Board recently held its annual reorganization meeting.

At the meeting, the board re-elected Todd Curren as school board president and Dan Martin as vice-president.

In addition, board member Bill Hansell was elected the board's representative to the Northern Tier Career Center Joint Operating Committee, and Martin was elected the board's representative to the Pennsylvania School Boards Association and the board's representative to the Intermediate Unit No. 17 Board of Directors.

During the regular meeting, the board accepted the resignation of Mary Hawthorne as fifth and sixth grade girls' basketball coach, effective Nov. 29, and approved Virginia Roupp as personal care aide.

Craft fair scheduled in Troy

The 'TIS the Season Craft Fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Troy Intermediate School in Troy.

The Troy Intermediate School Student Council is sponsoring the craft fair. Crafts, poinsettias, jewelry, baked goods, wood products, refreshments, handmade items, and more will be for sale.

Signs at the school will direct visitors to the craft fair.

Bradford County Library to hold Santa event

Santa Claus will be coming to the Bradford County Library from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8 in West Burlington Township.

The event is for the entire family, and cats and dogs are welcome. According to the library, five-by-seven inch photos will be available to purchase for $5. There is also the option to purchase three five-by-seven inch photos for $10. This event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Bradford County Library.
