Book contest deadline announced
The Bradford County Library is reminding all students in grades 1-8 that the deadline for the annual "Write Your Own Book" contest is at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19. The reception to honor the winners will be at 2 p.m. Saturday afternoon, March 9. This year's presenter will be Kelsey Miller, author of "Retribution." This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Bradford County Library.
Kindergarten registration to be held in Troy
The Troy Area School District is pleased to announce the dates, times, and procedures for Kindergarten Registration at the W.R. Croman Primary School for the 2013-2014 school year, according to a news release on the school district's website. The following schedule applies:

Wednesday, March 20, 2013
Thursday, March 21, 2013
Please call the W.R. Croman office at 297-3145 to schedule an appointment to register your child.
The times for appointments on all three days are: 8:45 a.m.; 9:45 a.m.; 1 p.m.
(There will be 10 -12 students scheduled per time slot.)
The following information must be brought to the registration site:
- Official birth certificate (student must be 5 years of age on or before Aug. 31, 2013)
- Immunization record
- Custody / visitation papers
- A recent picture of your child
- A proof of residence (i.e. utility bill; such as gas or electric, tax bill or letter from landlord, and drivers license with physical address within the district)
- Bring the child with you
Again this year we will be using a technique called "Kidwatching" which allows the teachers to observe your child in a play situation while you attend to the necessary paperwork.
