Troy Homecoming Parade scheduled
The public is urged to come out and support Troy High School at the Trojan 2013 Homecoming Parade at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11 in Troy.
According to a news release, the parade will begin at the Presbyterian Church on Route 6 in Troy and will follow Route 6 East and turn left onto Route 14 North. Then, the procession will turn into Alparon Park and loop around the track for the football fans to see.
The parade and court will be announced at the football field at 6 p.m.
Canton Halloween Parade scheduled
The 2013 Canton Civic Club Annual Halloween Parade will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 in Canton.
The theme for the 2013 Canton Civic Club Annual Halloween Parade is "Storybook Halloween." Floats will be judged at 4:30 p.m. behind the high school.
Costumes and novelties will be judged at 4:30 p.m. at the Church of Christ parking lot at the corner of East Union Street and North Minnequa Avenue.
To be included in the judging all entrants must be prompt as the judging will start promptly at 4:30 p.m.
For safety, no pets or animals are permitted.
Donations are needed for parade expenses. Please send them to Kim Bailey, Chemung Canal Bank, 5 W. Main St., Canton or Amy Seeley, Canton Borough, PO Box 174, Canton. Expenses are for prizes and candy.
This year's theme was the choice of Ms. Waldmeyer's First Grade Class at Canton Elementary. They will lead the parade and carry the banner.

Armenia Twp. changes meeting date
The Armenia Township supervisors have announced that their scheduled October meeting of Oct. 10 has been rescheduled to Oct. 14. It will be held at 7 p.m., and the Nov. 18 and 19 meetings have been changed to Nov. 4 and 5 at the Covert Church Annex at 7 p.m., according to a news release.
